E D PARTNER’S ROLE IN BBBEE
Supporting Socio-Economic Development
Owner-driver Programmes implemented by Enterprise Development Partner serve as an example of how corporate South Africa is responding to the preferential procurement and enterprise development requirements of the Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Code of Good Practice (BBBEE Code).
The purpose of the BBBEE Code is to support socio-economic development amongst a broad spectrum of black South Africans who have been denied access to the mainstream economy in the past, and would face difficulty in gaining access and sustaining participation in the economy today.
A combination of the two BBBEE Code elements by E D Partner has resulted in the establishment of enterprises for members of the broader black community whilst ensuring the enterprises sustainability through access to an established market.
E D Partner provides management services to the newly established enterprises, assisting them in areas where they would in all probability have had no prior experience.
In providing its services, E D Partner aims to make these entities sustainable; in turn passing on the benefits of the BBBEE codes to the corporate sponsor, enabling the achievement of maximum BBBEE recognition.
This plan seeks to generate significant interest of a funder/investor to facilitate the funding of vehicles and the working capital requirements.
